Do You Really Know What You Want?
You never know what you dislike,
Until you find what feels just right.
Most of us drift through life on autopilot,
Chasing checklists, stuck in the quiet.
Growing up first came the schools and annual tests, then the race—
Entrance exams set the pace.
Next, came a job, a title, a band and a promotion ladder to climb,
A race against an invisible time.
Then comes the script that all must read,
Marriage, children—society’s creed.
But in this rush, this endless chase,
Did you ever pause to find your place???
I lived half of my life, by choices not my own,
A puppet to the norms I’d known.
Trained to listen, obey, comply,
Never once stopping to question why??
But then, one day, a thought arose,
While driving to work, lost in mind’s echoes.
"Will I ever love the way I choose??
Will I ever be my true Authentic Self??
Will I ever live, not just lose?"
Then again, came work, and home, and sleep,
That thought buried, buried deep.
Was it fear that made me ignore—
That tiny voice knocking at my door???
Yet I feel like that day my mind's energy and vibration,
Had set some things in motion..
A ripple effect took place
I was asked to quit my job, take a stride..
Tag along with husband abroad and be the trophy wife.
BUT
I chose to fight, to keep my soul and keep my independence alive..
No trophy wife, no script to read,
I craved solitude, space to breathe.
And in that quiet, all alone,
I met myself—I was finally home.
Silence speaks if you dare to hear,
Your own voice, raw and clear.
Yes, the unknown may be scary and shake your core,
But only there—you will learn to soar.
The mind and brain resists, it craves the known,
Patterns etched, even if overthrown.
But life demands we break and dive,
For only then do we learn to thrive.
So take the risk, embrace the flight,
You might just find—your wings feel right.
